Nothing is set in stone yet about the Xiaomi Mi5, but if the leaks and rumors are to be believed, then it looks set to become the most powerful Android phone in the world. Read on for everything we know - and have heard - so far about the Xiaomi Mi5 price, release date, specs, features, and more.

Xiaomi Mi5 release date

We're expecting the Xiaomi Mi5 release date to come at some point in the fall. Mobile news site Mobipicker managed to get its hands on Xiaomi's roadmap, which shows the Xiaomi Mi5 to be set for a November release.

Xiaomi Mi5 display

According to Mobipicker, the Xiaomi Mi5 display will be a 5.3-inch offering with a 1440p (2560 x 1440-pixel) resolution. On paper, this will put the display on par with the best flagships smartphones out there.

Xiaomi Mi5 specs

The Mi5 is expected to come with 4GB RAM and an as-yet unreleased Snapdragon 820 chipset. The chipset will be a quad 'Kryo' core offering. While four cores may sound a bit '2013', early benchmarks suggest that the Snapdragon 820 could be more powerful than the Exynos 7420 chip powering the Galaxy S6. In short, the Xiaomi Mi5 specs sound formidable.

Xiaomi Mi5 camera

The Mi5 will likely pack a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 6MP front-facing snapper. Mobipicker described the 16MP camera as a 'flip side' camera, suggesting that it will be hidden in the chassis by default and will pop out when you take photos using it. This sounds like an intriguing move and we'll be keeping a close eye on the Xiaomi Mi5 camera so we can find out more.xiaomi mi4i camera

Xiaomi Mi5 battery

Based on the info from Mobipicker, we're expecting the Xiaomi Mi5 battery to pack 3,030mAh of juice, which is plenty by today's standards. Of course, the battery's longevity will largely depend on the efficiency of the rumored Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is still something of an unknown quantity.

Xiaomi Mi5 features

In April, Gizmo China revealed that Xiaomi had filed a new patent for a fingerprint sensor. If rumors are to be believed, then the new sensor will have a fingerprint scanner integrated into the Home button, similarly to the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6.
